Step 1: tert-Butyl 6-bromobenzo[d]thiazol-2-ylcarbamate A mixture of 6-bromobenzo[d]thiazol-2-amine (14.7 g, 64.2 mmol), di-tert-butyl dicarbonate (14.0 g, 64.1 mmol) and N, N-dimethylpyridin-4-amine (40.0 mg, 0.327 mmol) in DCM (200 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 24 h and then filtered. The filtrate was evaporated in vacuo. The resultant residue was purified via flash chromatography on silica gel (solvent gradient: 0-10% ethyl acetate in petroleum ether) to yield 7.26 g (34%) of the title compound as a yellow solid.
